Hot water extraction that pulls out what vacuuming leaves behind, including traffic lanes, ground in grit, allergens and pet odour.
Vacuuming lifts what sits on top. The dirt that dulls a carpet and wears it out is the grit that has worked down into the pile, and that only comes out with heat, agitation and extraction.
We pre-treat the traffic lanes and any spots first, work the solution into the pile, then extract. The extraction pass is what matters, because a carpet left holding solution reattracts dirt within weeks.
We work on wool, wool blends, synthetics and loop pile. If a carpet is old, threadbare or antique we will tell you before we start and use a lower moisture method instead.

On modern carpets, no. Very old or loosely woven carpets can move, which is why we inspect first and switch to a low moisture method where there is any doubt.
Recent spills usually come out completely. Older stains that have set, or dye based stains, may improve substantially without disappearing. We will tell you which is which before we start.
We move sofas, chairs and tables. We do not move electronics, antiques, pianos or anything fragile. Clearing small items and toys beforehand helps.
It helps, but dust mites live mainly in mattresses, pillows and upholstery, so cleaning those matters more if allergies are the reason you are asking.
